What events define a genocide? What happens when an object of description cannot be tied to historical provenance or place of origin? What happens to description itself when it shadows the movement of this object across time and geographic space? This talk chronicles a changing object of description—genocide--and attempts, through the devices of  literary non-fiction, to track it across several narrative registers.
