Research Interests:
Extractive capitalism, the state, social conflicts, infrastructure, governance in Andean communities, Peru, China-Latin America relations

I am broadly interested in the processes of decentralization, public service provision, and contract negotiation that attend to and accompany foreign-led extraction in the Andes. My research focuses on the state-firm relations emergent in social conflicts involving communities affected by extractive activity in Peru, specifically the state’s management of mining conflicts and the ways in which communities may leverage conflict to make claims on the Peruvian government and mining firms.

I received my B.A. in Economics and Latin American Studies (with honors) from the University of Chicago in 2017.
