An Introduction to Ethnographic Poetry

Abstract

What makes a poem ethnographic? What is the relationship between anthropology and poetry? What might we gain from an ethnographic exploration of poetry / a poetic engagement with the practice of ethnography? This session offers a brief introduction to ethnographic poetry, analyzing the poetic ethnographic form and reading contemporary works, culminating in a guided writing workshop.
