An informal conversation with Prof. Hannah Appel about Navigating Scholarship and Activism

Professor Hannah Appel will be joining us for a Brown Bag session on June 1st to discuss her role as one of the founding members of the Debt Collective, sharing insight into the organizing strategy and theory of change behind debtor’s unions. She’ll also take questions about navigating an academic career while maintaining a commitment to activism.

The format for the session will be informal and driven by student questions. If you’d like to submit a question or a particular theme in advance, please fill out this form. Appel will provide some background for the Debt Collective’s organizing work and how her scholarship and activism have evolved. She’s recommended that participants read this piece about the Debt Collective in the Boston Review.
