International law has been fundamental to Palestinian politics for over a century. Although promising fair and just solutions to conflict through application of shared liberal norms, international law has never achieved these professed aims in Palestine. Through a discussion of international investigative commissions to Palestine, this talk demonstrates how the ideology of liberal legalism brings political actors together in a framework that purports to be a level playing field, but never is.
