How to Declare the Major/Minor

STEP 1: Review Degree Requirements

Review the pertinent Major or Minor Requirements

STEP 2: Fill out the Stanford Anthropology Declaration Form

Fill out the following Google Form where you can indicate your interests and faculty preferences. Feel free to also visit our Peer Advisors’ Office Hours if you have any questions or if you would like to fill out the form with them. 

  • Note that the B.A. degree program usually requires at least five quarters of enrollment.

  • Note that the minor usually requires at least two quarters of enrollment.

STEP 3: Meet with our Student Services Officer

Schedule a meeting with the Undergraduate Student Services Officer to review major/minor requirements via calendly. 

During the meeting, you can ask any questions about:

  • The Anthro major/minor requirements

  • Honors/ Senior Paper requirements

  • Funding resources and other opportunities

STEP 4: Submit major/minor requests on Axess

Apply for the B.A. or the minor on Axess

STEP 5: Receive faculty advisor assignment

You will receive a written notification of your faculty advisor assignment via email once assigned and approved.
